The Seniors Place Annual LuncheonOctober 1st, 2008 at River Oaks Country Club |
| 11:30 am | Luncheon Keynote Speaker Louise Parsley Louise Parsley, native Houstonian, wife, mother, community volunteer and award-winning writer, has entertained readers with her columns for the last decade. She manages to put into words what we all experience in our daily lives, helping us to realize we’re not alone and to be ever mindful of the importance of knowing when to laugh … and sometimes, when to cry. A graduate of the University of Texas, Louise is an “accidental writer,” having fallen into the world of writing quite unexpectedly with her bi-weekly column that appeared in the Examiner Newspapers for over five years. She has won awards for Excellence in Journalism from the Houston Press Club and Texas Assn. of Community Newspapers. Louise remains active in the community through organizations including AIDS Foundation Houston, the Periwinkle Foundation, Candlelighters - Childhood Cancer Family Alliance, F.U.U.S.A –Families Under Urban and Social Attack, University of Texas Fine Arts Council, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Junior League of Houston and Strake Jesuit College Preparatory. Mother of two twenty-somethings and a high school junior, Louise is married to Bob Parsley, better known to her readers as “The Bob.” “Family,” says Louise, “is the best fodder.” |
