Amazing Place Educational Forum and Luncheon

We invite you to join us on October 20th, 2010, for the Amazing Place Annual Educational Forum and Luncheon that will be held at the River Oaks Country Club. Co-Chairing this year’s event are Nancy Craig and Janet Lionberger along with Underwriting Chairs Kathy and Derek Munger. We are delighted to have Almeria Cottingham serving as this year’s Honorary Chairwoman, who has been intimately involved with the organization since its inception and has held many key leadership roles within the organization, including serving on the successful Building for Generations Steering Committee as well as a serving as a prior Board Member.

Amazing Place will honor Tres Cochran and Vicki Keiser at this year’s luncheon, both for their exceptional leadership and vision and the fact that they have served in many capacities for the organization over the past eight years, in their Board positions. They have both brought their respective firms to Amazing Place who have been critical in the success of the organization’s transition to our new facility located at 3735 Drexel. Vickie Keiser is a Regional Partner at Deloitte & Touche LLP and Tres Cochran, is a partner at Vinson & Elkins.

We are honored to have Dr. Thomas Cole, Director of the McGovern Center for Health, Humanities and the Human Spirit, return as our keynote speaker. You may view his heartwarming video of our participants, that he presented at last year’s luncheon, on our website at: www.amazingplacehouston.org . Dr. Cole will focus his attention on our care giving families this year with a presentation entitled: Caring Givers Speak. Additionally, we are blessed to have Dr. Mary Kenan Owens and Dr. Paul E. Schultz back to serve on the Educational Forum Panel.
